Marcel Fengler has been quoted as “one of the finest techno DJs” (Resident Advisor),
earning international recognition for his “well-crafted body of production work” (FACT) and
the unique, “multi-faceted personality” (Electronic Beats) he brings to his craft.
For almost three decades, Fengler has developed a versatile and dynamic DJing style, making
him one of the first resident DJs at Berlin’s legendary Berghain / Panorama Bar in 2005.
Known for his ability to shift pace, atmosphere, and energy in response to the dance floor,
he seamlessly moves between industrial-drenched hardness, broken beats, gloomy dubs,
and melodic grooves. His early releases on Ostgut Ton and Mote Evolver paved the way for
his debut album, Fokus (2013), a statement of intent filled with emotional depth and
unexpected contrasts.
In 2011, Fengler launched his imprint, Index Marcel Fengler (IMF), a label dedicated to his
timeless techno vision while serving as a platform for emerging talent. This philosophy took
on new dimensions in 2024 with the launch of ‚KISHIKAN’, an event series combining
elements of his ‘IMF label showcases’
,‘Marcel Fengler Invites’ events and the newly
established HARDPROOF VA project. With KISHIKAN, Fengler continues to push boundaries,
creating a fresh space for artistic innovation and musical exploration.
